The Vermont Historical Society (VHS) was founded 175 years ago. In the 1940s it acquired the Vermont State Library’s printed family history collection and has maintained a strong interest in genealogy since. It also has a large collection of town histories, manuscripts, photographs, maps, and printed ephemera.

On Saturday, October 5th from 10:30 to noon, Paul Carnahan, librarian at VHS, will discuss its genealogical resources and describe how to identify valuable resources to aid in researching your family history. Classes are $5.00 and are held at the Vermont Genealogy Library located on Hegeman Ave, Fort Ethan Allen, Colchester, across from the State Police Building.
