Sunday April 10 is Holy Humor Sunday at Richmond Congregational Church, UCC. Worship begins at 10:00 AM.

Holy Humor Sunday is celebrated after Easter as Christians delight in the joy and surprise of the resurrection. The custom was rooted in the musings of early church theologians (like Augustine, Gregory of Nyssa, and John Chrysostom) that God played a practical joke on the devil by raising Jesus from the dead. "Risus paschalis - the Easter laugh," the early theologians called it. Wear a silly hat, or mismatched clothes and join in the joy and revelry of Holy Humor!
