Piper Iain McHarg will welcome guests to this Sundays' Benefit Concert for the Newport Area Community Orchestra at St. Mark's Newport.

This 2 hours program, which begins at 3 pm, will include an intermission with lite refreshments and pipe music. The program will conclude by a haunting, yet majestic “Highland Cathedral” with Paula Graveline-Hansen, flute, Iain, pipes, and Jim McKimm Organ.

This program is not to be missed. Please purchase your tickets early at www.nowplayingnewport.com.

As his father is one on the premier bagpipe builders in the world, it is no surprise that Iain developed into a well respected and accomplished player.

In addition to competing as a solo piper, Iain has also been involved in many other aspects of Celtic music. He has founded three Highland Pipe Bands in Vermont (Catamount Grade 3 & 4, the Green Mountain Highlanders) and has played with several folk groups. Iain’s solo album, Rooted in Tradition, and his Christmas Album, Celtic Christmas, are sold in many areas of the world. Iain has also published Feadan Mor, a collection of original tunes for the bagpipe.

Visit his website at:http://www.vtcelticarts.org/Vermont_Insti…/Iain_MacHarg.html and hear him play this Sunday.
