Poetry Classes Oct. 9

Past event
Oct 9, 7 PM to 8:30 PM, Dec 11, 2013

Poetry classes are being offered this fall, once a month, on the Second Wednesdays, by poet and writing Professor Marjorie Ryerson. The classes will run from 7:00-8:30 in Kimball Public Library's lower level, on Main Street in Randolph. The classes are free. As the result of a Vermont Reads grant that the town of Randolph has won from the Vt. Humanities Council, each student in the class will also receive a free copy of Billy Collins' newest book "Poetry 180," which features the poems of 180 contemporary poets.

Students in the class will read and talk about poetry, and will write and share their own poems during each class in the 3-class session. They also will do some writing between the once-a-month classes. A similar three-class, second-Wednesdays poetry series will be held in February, March and April.

To register or to ask questions, please write Marjorie at water05060@gmail.com. The class size is limited to 20 students, and the class is about half full at this point with area writers. Teenagers as well as adults are welcome!
