Energy Efficient Open Houses

Saturday, October 5th, from 10AM to 1PM, several Burlington homeowners will open their homes to share the energy efficiency improvements that they’ve made.

October 5th has been designated as “Button Up Vermont!” a Day of Action. This is similar to the Vermont tradition of “Green Up Day” in May, except that the focus is on getting your home ready for winter and improving its energy efficiency.

To celebrate this “Button Up Vermont!”, Day of Action, the Burlington Home Energy Challenge has arranged for several Burlington homeowners, who have already weatherized and improved the energy efficiency of their homes, to open their homes and to share with friends, neighbors and other interested residents the energy efficiency improvements that they’ve made in their homes. In addition, volunteers from the Burlington Home Energy Challenge will be available at each home to explain the “Challenge”, i.e. Burlington’s competition with other Vermont towns to weatherize more homes, and to explain the programs, services and financial incentives that are available to Burlington residents to weatherize and improve the energy efficiency of their homes. Visitors to the Open Houses can also sign up to win a raffle prize that will help them save energy in their home.

The following eight (8) homes will be open from 10:00AM to 1:00PM on Saturday, October 5th:
112 Adams St
88 Lakewood Parkway
129 Caroline St.
225 North Winooski
