FREE - everyone welcome!
Louis Sheldon Newton (1871-1953), of Hartford, Vt., had a long and prolific architectural career in the Upper Valley and throughout Vermont. His work was often in the Colonial Revival architectural style, both in his designs for new construction --- for example, the Wilder Club and Library (1899), in Wilder, Vt., and the Royalton Memorial Library (1920-1924), in South Royalton --- as well as his alterations of existing buildings, like with his 1914 renovations of the Old Constitution House, in Windsor, Vt. Learn more about architect Newton from Hartford Historical Society museum director Martha Knapp and Royalton Historical Society curator John Dumville during this free exhibit talk on May 4. The Newton exhibit is displayed at the Royalton Memorial Library from April 5 through June 4.
