SHHS Proudly Presents:
Valcour Island and Lighthouses of Lake Champlain
by Rob Clark and Roger Harwood

Friday, April 8th, 2016 at 7PM
at Folsom School Upstairs in the Old Brick Section

Come hear stories and historical facts from Roger Harwood, chairperson of the Bluff Point Lighthouse located on Valcour Island and Rob Clark, owner of two Vermont lighthouses--one located on Isle LaMotte and the other located in Alburgh called Windmill Point Lighthouse. Rob will share his vast knowledge of Lake Champlain Lighthouses and Roger will discuss the Bluff Point Lighthouse and its recent major restoration. South Hero has always had a close connection with the lake. Valcour Island on the New York shore is a common destination for boaters during the summer months. Bluff Point Lighthouse on Valcour Island overlooks the sight where the Battle of Lake Champlain occurred. Lighthouses are an important part of the history of the lake and so interesting!

The South Hero Historical Society purpose is to get people together who love to talk about South Hero History and topics related to South Hero and the Islands’ culture. Please join us! All ages welcome!
