Many people are challenged by neck pain and finding a comfortable place for their head in space. Moshe Feldenkrais, the developer of the Feldenkrais Method®, once noted that if the head is not organized in relation to the rest of the self, a person cannot be fully functional. This 6 week series will help you to reorganize the carriage of the head on your spine. You will discover how to find support and mobility within yourself through a series of Awareness Through Movement® lessons. Anyone--young or old, physically challenged or physically fit--can benefit from the Method. Participants will use slow, gentle movements and you will be encouraged to move within the limits of safety by avoiding pain and strain. The emphasis is on learning which movements work better and noticing the quality of these changes in your body. Through increased awareness, you will learn to abandon habitual patterns of movement and develop new alternatives, resulting in improved flexibility and coordination. You do not need prior Feldenkrais®experience or Yoga experience to enjoy this 6 week series.
Please bring a mat or blanket with you and wear warm, comfortable clothes. For more information about the Feldenkrais-Method® , testimonials etc. please visit Uwe’s website at www.vermontfeldenkrais.com
