Community Forum on New Vista Project Thursday

Past event
Mar 31, 2016, 6 to 8 PM

This Thursday (March 31) at 6pm the Library will host a community forum regarding the activities and plans of the NewVistas Foundation. This Foundation recently made news with its plans for a self-sufficient, high-density settlement, beginning with purchases of property on Dairy Hill. We will begin with a brief introduction by Nicole Antal of Sharon as she shares how she broke the story last Tuesday.
Based in Provo, Utah, the NewVistas Foundation describes its work as creating an "intitiative to create an urban model and economic system for the 21st century and beyond" and is based upon "four fundamental principles: (1) high quality of life, (2) robust local econosystem, (3) massive scalability, and (4) low environmental impact." Many of us have many questions and opinions about precisely what the plan might look like, how the Foundation intends to carry out development in our community, and what impact such a project would have on the life of our existing community and environment here in central Vermont.
Have questions about the plans of the NewVistas Foundation? Foundation president David Hall will be available by phone to respond to questions from those attending the forum.
