In celebration of spring, this season's last Science Pub will take place at beautiful Mountain
Top Inn in Chittenden with specially-priced dinner menu.
April 3, 4 p.m.: PLANTS WE LOVE TO HATE
With Mary Droege, Biology Laboratory and Greenhouse manager, and adjunct professor, Castleton University
Mountaintop Inn, 195 Mountain Top Rd, Chittenden
Invasive, exotic, weed!
They are our most unloved plants, but are they one and the same?
Non-native plants range from the common dandelion to the towering poison parsnip as well as to apples and roses!
Mary Droege, a botanist with expertise in ecological management and restoration, will lead us in a discussion on good and bad non-native plants, their incursion into Vermont, and our response, as well as the limits of our abilities to manage nature.
Everyone invited to celebrate the end of the fifth successful Science Pub season with learning and conversation, and if you choose, drinks and dinner (with special menu).
