“The Summer of Walter Hacks,” the award-winning feature film directed and co-written by George Woodard, will be shown Saturday, April 2, at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. at the Tunbridge Town Hall. Woodard will answer questions after each free showing. Donations are requested.

The movie won the Best Screenplay and Best Stunts awards at the 2010 Vermont International Film Festival. It tells the story of Vermont farm boy 11-year-old Walter Hacks in the summer of 1952. Major actors were Woodard’s son Henry, John Kiedaisch and Francesca Blanchard, now a popular singer-songwriter, who was 12 when the movie was filmed some five years before the production was ready for release.

The Friends of Tunbridge Public Library and Pasture Productions are hosting the film. For information contact the library at 889-9404, tunbridgelibrary@yahoo.com
