Please come, even if you've not read the collection of short stories called 'Birds of a Lesser Paradise' by Megan Mayhew Bergman. We enjoy hearing about what everyone is reading, in addition to our chosen book.

For April we'll read: 'All True Travels and Adventures of Lidie Newton' by Jane Smiley. This is a historical and picaresque tale of remarkable characters, with graphic descriptions of travels and domestic life before the Civil War. It involves the struggle of a young woman to live simply amid a swirl of deadly antagonism. A tale of love, war, revenge and betrayal and full of adventure, suspense, near-misses and coincidences! Wow!!!
