This Saturday at 8PM we will hold the beautiful service of darkness turning to light, historically called The Great Vigil of Easter. (During early days Christians held the service all night with many readings, prayers, and baptism of those who had prepared for two years for this great event in their lives). Our version will last about an hour and a quarter. We’ll begin on the porch of the Jerusalem Schoolhouse with The Holy Fire at 8. Please bring cowbells, or dinner bells, or cymbals, or any good noisemaker for the moment when we declare it to be Easter: At the words “Alleluia, Christ is Risen!” we make lots of noise and turn on the lights. Then we celebrate Easter communion.
All people are welcome to come and participate as you wish.
