If you are a town of Williston resident that is concerned about the future of your home and quality of life, I urge you to attend the annual Williston Growth Management Meeting. There are two MAJOR projects in various stages of review that will drastically change the landscape of this town. There are two very defined views on this expansive growth model, both of which have concerns and legitimate points. I have had several discussions and have found that most are very concerned that the "urbanization of Williston" through additional housing and commercial spaces is placing undesirable strain on our town services, current residents, and infrastructure. Additionally, those that are voicing some negative opinions and facts about this growth are being painted in a very negative light including terms such as "racist" and "entitled". If seeking to maintain a controlled workload on our teachers, police, and fire departments while wishing to not have a massive influx of traffic is construed as either "racist" or "entitled", I must be using the wrong dictionary. Whether you are in support of growth or not, it is important that you know that facts and ask the questions so the town can act in the interest of the majority of the taxpayers. After all, that is the pure essence of public service. Then again, maybe that has been secretly redefined and I never received the memo. Time will tell...............
