I encourage all residents to attend the SB Community Input Night on March 22 at the SBHS Auditorium. The School Board will provide information on their recent activities, the 5 options for school consolidation, and the financial impacts and educational opportunities of each option. Most importantly they will ask the community what critical information residents need in order to make an informed decision--they need your input!
If a neighborhood school closes (Chamberlin) or opens (Oak Creek) it impacts the character of that neighborhood--perhaps for the better, perhaps not. Residents interested in their neighborhood must share their voice and ask their questions during this important time.
As a City Councilor, I am attending because in the near future taxpayers may be asked to consider both a school bond and a city bond, which at the end of the day impacts the combined tax bill. Having an understanding of how the jigsaw puzzle may come together is important. Your thoughts, concerns, comments are important in how the final decisions are made.
Hope to see you there!
