2016 Women’s History Month Event: Women of the Long Trail
Thursday, March 24 @ 7:00 pm
Green Mountain Club Visitor’s Center, Route 100, Waterbury, Vermont

Kathleen Norris, Catherine Robbins and Hilda M. Kurth, also known as “The Three Musketeers” were the first women to hike the Long Trail’s full length in 1927. They became a national sensation and the most famous of many who have completed the country’s oldest long-distance footpath. Join the Vermont Commission on Women, the Vermont Historical Society and the Green Mountain Club (GMC) for this FREE program celebrating Women’s History Month. This event will feature Reidun Nuquist, historian, talented speaker, GMC Montpelier section President and librarian who has a special interest in Long Trail history. Plan to attend this event to hike vicariously through pictures and words on this (perhaps muddy, perhaps snowy) March evening! The event is FREE thanks to co-sponsors: Cabot Creamery Cooperative, Denis, Ricker & Brown, and Vermont Mutual Insurance Group. FREE Refreshments will be provided. Questions? Contact Amanda Gustin, the History Society’s Public Program Coordinator at (802) 828-2180 or at amanda.gustin@vermonthistory.org.
