Hello!
Since January, members of the Mt. Abe EAG have been part of a planning committee of students from about a dozen Vermont schools. We meet every week or two to plan a rally, and it is shaping up to be the largest youth-centered environmental rally in VT history! Students will congregate and march to the State House Lawn on April 28th, where we will spend the day listening to inspiring speakers, participating in environmental workshops, and talking to our legislators about what they are doing about the issue of climate change.
Several Mt. Abe teachers have expressed interest in bringing their classes to this event, and this is where you come in. There is no funding from the school to rent buses to transport students, so we need to rely on community donations. If everyone donates $20, we will need only 20 donors to raise $400, enough to rent two buses.
Please join us next WEDNESDAY, MARCH 23 IN THE MT. ABE SMALL CAFETERIA AT 6:00pm to share some snacks and hear more about our rally. We welcome donations, but you are also welcome to attend just to learn about this event.
If you are unable to attend the reception but want to donate anyway, please write CHECKS ADDRESSED TO THE MT. ABE ENVIRONMENTAL ACTION GROUP, and send them to Mt. Abe in the mail (220 Airport Dr, Bristol VT, 05443).
