"Anything Goes" Poetry Slam with Geof Hewitt

Past event
Apr 14, 2016, 6:30 to 9 PM

April is Poetry Month, and this year we are pleased to bring back Geof Hewitt to emcee this fun-filled, lively event to be held in the Steele Community Room at 28 North Main Street. Participants, spectators, and scorers are needed!

Since this is an “Anything Goes” Poetry Slam, the format and rules will be slightly different….
~ Only a one-round slam with slammers limited to five minutes at the mic.
~ Musicians, choral groups, story tellers, and of course poets, are all invited to the mic.
~ “Covers”will be allowed, but original work is encouraged.
~ Discretion is required since this will be an “all ages” event.

Essentially, this will be a talent show scored by audience members.

Registration for participants will begin at 6:30 PM, and the show starts at 7:00. Free and open to the public.

Last time we held this event at the Legion, and it was a blast. We are very excited that we are now able to host this event in our own building!
