The Northeast Kingdom Food System Plan Summit is coming up on March 26 at Sterling College!

Join fellow producers, growers, farmers, distributors, processors, and others involved in our local food system for a day of discussion and strategizing about the future of the NEK food economy. What do we need to do, how do we do it, and who needs to be involved? Register today at www.nvda.net/agriculture.php.

Topics include: growing consumer demand for local food, agricultural land availability, agricultural workforce development, farm profitability, and food processing, storage, and aggregation. Rose Wilson will present preliminary findings of the NEK Distribution Study. Following the study results is a panel of business owners including Shirley Richardson (Vermont Chevon), Don Maynard (Farm Connex), Jeremy Michaud (Kingdom Creamery), and Karen Guile-Caron (Peaslee Potatoes) to discuss opportunities for collaboration.

The Summit is free. We will start at 9 am. A lunch will be provided. A reception of local fare will follow the Summit at 4:30 pm.
