Meeting for Flood Insurance Rate Maps Along Winooski River

Past event

On September 11, 2013, FEMA informed the Town of Richmond that new Flood Insurance Rate Maps with proposed Base Flood Elevations (BFEs) have been released. The new maps were issued as a result of FEMA’s review of a 2012 appeal by the Town of Richmond to revise certain portions of Flood Insurance Rate Map panels along the Winooski River. With the release of these new panels, FEMA considers that the appeal has been resolved. FEMA has asked the Town of Richmond to file any comments about technical issues raised by October 11th.

On Tuesday, October 1st at 7 PM, a public meeting is being held to share the revised panels with property owners along the Winooski River and other interested members of the public.

PDF versions of the FEMA 2013 FIRM maps are posted on the Richmond web site – www.richmondvt.com -- go to the Documents link, read the 2013 FEMA FIRM INFO_README.pdf file to find the panel number, and then look at panels that might be of interest. You can also stop by the Richmond Planning & Zoning Office to view paper versions of the panels.

If you have any questions or comments, please contact Geoff Urbanik, Richmond Town Manager, at 434-5170 or townmgr@gmavt.net.
