Public Meeting March 14: Final Report – Lower Village Traffic Alternatives

Past event
Mar 14, 2016

What: Public Meeting - Final Scoping Report for Lower Village Traffic Alternatives
Where: Huntington Public Library
When: Monday, March 14 @ 7pm

As you know, high traffic speeds combined with a lack of sidewalks makes our compact Lower Village area unsafe for pedestrians and bicyclists. Reducing speed through traffic calming techniques, establishing a village streetscape that bolsters traffic calming & provides a safe and inviting pedestrian network, and evaluating alternatives for reconfiguring traffic flow to improve safety were all goals of the scoping study undertaken for our Lower Village. With funds allocated for traffic calming devices (up to $5,000 this year and up to $6,000 for the next fiscal year) and our capital plan calling for repaving the Lower Village in 2018-2019, the study incorporates both short-term and long-term solutions.

Please join us at the Huntington Library in the Lower Village on Monday evening (7 pm), March 14 for a presentation on the final report on Huntington Lower Village Bicycle & Pedestrian Scoping Study. A copy of the report can be found on the Town website at www.huntingtonvt.org (follow the link on the home page).
