Mindful Parenting Group Forming

This 6-week parenting group focuses on developing a mindfulness practice to support parents and families. The group will discuss ways to make new choices. There will be exercises during group time that will anchor our learning and weekly practices to do at home to support positive parenting choices. This class is taught by Sheyl Kurland-Platt and Deborah Feldman.

Sheryl Kurland-Platt, Ed.M. has a master’s degree in education specializing in Risk and Prevention. She is also a certified Yoga teacher for children and families. Sheryl has practiced Yoga and Meditation for twenty plus years. She is a mother of three and loves working with parents and children.

Deborah Feldman, M.A., psychotherapist, has over forty years of experience as a teacher, family counselor, Adlerian parent educator, and group facilitator. She currently practices mindful therapy with individuals and families and trains teachers to incorporate mindfulness in South Burlington classrooms. Deborah has 2 grown children. Her mindfulness practice is an integral part of every day.

This 1.5 hour weekly parenting group is funded by the generous support of Hannah’s House. The Joslin Memorial Library is donating the space to hold the group beginning on Tues., Oct. 8th through Tues., Nov.12 from 8:30 – 10:00 AM. This class is suitable for beginners as well as those who have an on-going mindfulness practice.
