Dear Neighbors,

This coming Monday, the City Council will convene its first of two meetings for the month of March. The Council will begin its evening at 7pm. We have a brief Board of Civil Authority and an equally as brief Board of Tax Abatement meeting which will take place at some point Tuesday evening.

The first item on our Council agenda is a presentation from Sherida Paulson of PKSB Architects who will be discussing the height and massing of the Burlington Town Center redevelopment project. We will then have a presentation from John Tashiro, the General Manager of City Market. Each year, City Market comes to a Council meeting to provide an annual update.

Following a vote on an outdoor entertainment permit for Switchback Beerworks (on Flynn Avenue), we will have a public hearing on two ordinances, one regarding mobile home parks and the other on grocery enterprises in the Enterprise-Light Manufacturing zone. These hearings will be followed by a vote on these ordinances. We will also be voting on an ordinance on fire protection and prevention at special events and an ordinance regarding the wearing of marks, hoods and other devices which conceal an identity.

We will have several Executive Sessions Monday evening to discuss negotiations on the Burlington Town Center redevelopment, the New Moran project, a pending tax appeals litigation and collective bargaining.

Prior to our Executive Session, we will have Council committee reports, comments from Councilors and the Mayor.

As with all Council meetings, please keep in mind that you are always welcome to come and speak to the Council on any subject you wish during our Public Forum which begins at 7:30pm. Clickable agenda items can be found on the City's website: https://www.boarddocs.com/vt/burlingtonvt/Board.nsf/Public All Council meetings are televised live on BT Channel 317 and streamed live to your computer or phone.

As always, I welcome your questions and concerns. Please be in touch over the weekend and on Monday.

My best,
Karen
