The HP Community Circle presents our annual Think Spring! Puppets and Plants on Saturday March 19, at the HP Elementary Gym from 11:00 am til 1:30 pm . Everybody's welcome to join us for the fantastic professional Puppeteer company No Strings Marionettes. Their performance this year is an underwater adventure called "Treasure Hunt". They design and construct their own life-like puppets, large and small. Dan and Barbara enjoy the time after the show to let children of all ages touch the puppets and talk to them. Another part of Think Spring! Puppets and Plants are the plants which were started earlier to be ready to be transplanted into pots to take home. This year Dan Young, a VT Master Gardner, started marigolds, zinnias, a dwarf sunflower, and an edible plant calendula. You're invited to come put your hands into potting soil, and take home your flowers. There's something about the smell of soil that says Spring! in a big way.
We also have crafts, with our Spring theme, to make and take home to remind you to Think Spring! Several crafts will be offered with lots of fun at each table, so enjoy all of them.
Last but certainly not least, are the CUPCAKES! We have lots and lots of homemade cupcakes donated from neighbors and friends in Hyde Park and N. Hyde Park. Thank you to all of our bakers, you are all so sweet! We'll provide chocolate milk and apple cider, donated by Hannaford's, along with apple butter sandwiches made by Julie and Jon at Fitch Hill Inn. Antonia is making some cucumber sandwiches, and several other goodies.
