An afternoon of poetry, jazz, Vermeer and a touch of Ireland.
Three poets--Daniel Lusk, Angela Patten, and Alexis Lathem-- will read from their new books published by Wind Ridge Books of Vermont.
Sunday March 6, 2016
4 pm.
Richmond Free Library
Pushcart Prize-winner Daniel Lusk will read from his new collection The Vermeer Suite, poems inspired by the beloved masterworks of 17th century Dutch painter Johannes Vermeer. Angela Patten will read from In Praise of Usefulness. The expatriate Irish poet once again is poised between thoughts of Ireland, the country that engendered her love of language and literature, and America. Alexis Lathem’s Alphabet of Bones gives voice to places, cultures, and creatures threatened or extinct, to be accompanied by the Art Herttua and Ray Carroll Jazz duo.
Refreshments will be served.
