Origins of Detective Fiction at Martha Canfield Library March 6

Past event
Mar 6, 2016, 2 to 4 PM

The Sunday Afternoon at the Library series welcomes Sally Sugarman to talk about The Origins of Detective Fiction: The History of the Mystery on March 6 at 2:00pm. Despite dominating best seller lists and television programming, the mystery genre is often dismissed as trivial. On the contrary, it is invaluable in the ways in which it reflects society over time, as well as issues about the nature of morality and justice. Sally, a member of the Baker Street Irregulars and a writer and mystery reviewer, will give an illustrated talk about this unique element of popular culture. Call the Library at 802-375-6153 for more information or check out our website: marthacanfieldlibrary.org.
