The Art House is pleased to present this workshop by Nick Neddo. This workshop introduces charcoal as an ancient and modern drawing medium and quickly launches into the process of making it directly from the local landscape. Participants will learn to locate various raw materials suitable for a variety of charcoal properties; learn to process the raw materials into drawing stick blanks; and fire them in order to transform them into high quality artist charcoal. Students will also make charcoal stick holders from plants that are especially well suited for this. Afterwards, we will explore the medium’s potential with some time for drawing. Location - Sterling College
