Friends and neighbors -
Several hot issues in Burlington will be open for discussion as the New North End NPA's offer a special opportunity for our community to discuss timely issues. Your NPA (Neighborhood Planning Assembly) in Ward 4 and Ward 7 have gotten a number of requests to give time to talk about several topics of interest in our community. The topics are
1) F35's at Burlington Airport (National Guard)
2) The proposed new school Calendar year for 2014/15 called "Calendar 2.0"
3) The City Council's recent Redistricting Plan
4) The Parks & Rec. departments proposed Lot-size coverage increase.
Since these are hot and timely topics, the NPA has scheduled a rare but special opportunity for our community to talk together about each of these topics on Wednesday October 2. Each topic will be given 30 minutes (order of topics not yet determined)
We have NOT formally arranged for someone to talk at you, but we are hoping to have people key to these topic available to hear our discussions and maybe answer a few questions. This is open to Northern Burlington residents and guests. Seating may be limited. Time will be given for respectful and thoughtful conversation. Fair balance of positions will be encouraged as necessary.
The discussions will be video-recorded to be replayed on CCTV Channel 17. We also will encourage people key to each topic to also watch the discussions on CCTV so your voices will be heard.
So mark your calendar for this special public Open Forum night - This Wednesday - October 2, 7pm to 9pm at the Miller Center in Northern Burlington (End of Gosse Court)
Any questions or comments can be directed to Jim Holway, (802) 865-4471 or jim@05408.org - If you are unable to be present, but would like your thoughts added to the discussion you may send them to the email address above.
