Coming up Thursday on Goddard College Community Radio—the great chicken debate in Barre City.
9:00 - 10:00 am
The city of Barre, Vermont allows its residents to keep chickens, with a 30-foot setback to dwellings. Some city councilors are proposing to double that setback to 60 feet, and add a rule that chickens can’t be within 30 feet of a property line. Friends of backyard chickens argue that the setbacks would essentially ban chickens for many property owners. We’ll hear from city councilor Charlie Dindo and local resident Laurel Ann Maurer—plus your phone calls.
10:00 - 10:30 am
Resilience Thoughts, a locally told Extempo story by Kevin Gallagher, plus upcoming events related to energy, food, and the local economy at the end of the age of oil.
