Did you know that the bedrock of southern Isle La Motte in Lake Champlain consists of a 450-million-year-old fossil reef and that this reef is the oldest reef in the world where corals first appeared? This ancient reef is a National Natural Landmark and is protected in two preserves in Isle La Motte – Learn about this and more from Laurence Becker, who served as the Vermont State Geologist from 1995 – 2014. He will be giving a presentation at the Warren Public Library on Thursday, February 25, at 7:00 pm. The event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.
