Cyber Safety Discussion Feb. 24

Past event
Feb 24, 2016

On Wed., Feb. 24 at 6:30 pm in Long Trail School’s theater, Detective Trooper Robert Zink and Case Coordinator Jenna Caslin will discuss internet/cyber safety related to teen children. The free presentation focuses on the dangers of chatting and exchanging photographs online. It covers mostly peer on peer based exchanges of indecent material as this is what they mainly see in investigations. A question and answer session will conclude their presentation.

With the Vermont State Police, Robert Zink has been assigned for the past three years to the Bennington County Special Investigations Unit which handles reports of egregious physical abuse and sexual abuse of children. Many of these investigations have an element of technology, including cellular phones, tablets, PCs, and social media. A Bennington County native, Zink chose to stay in Vermont as it provides a better sense of accomplishment in his work.

Jenna Caslin has worked at the Bennington County Child Advocacy Center & Special Investigations Unit as Case Coordinator for two years; this job supports victims of sexual abuse and egregious cases of physical abuse and neglect. She works with victims and non offending family members from the time of disclosure through deposition in the courts. Caslin is a Trainer for Prevent Child Abuse Vermont and an "Ambassador of Hope" for Shared Hope International.
