As part of Project 240, Master Sergeant Bob McDonald and the United States Army Brass Quintet will join together with the Castleton University Chamber Singers and Castleton University Wind Ensemble for a one of a kind performance on Sunday, February 28.

The US Army Brass Quintet will perform a medley of Songs for the Soldier, a musical journey from the Revolutionary War to Desert Storm. In addition, the famed quintet will perform alongside the chamber singers and the wind ensemble at various points during the program.

Favorites such as Battle Hymn of the Republic, God Bless America, and Together in Song by Vermont’s Gwyneth Walker highlight the performance which is sure to please audiences of all ages.

This event is free and open to the public. Doors open at 2:30 p.m., with the program set to begin at 3 p.m.

ABOUT THE ARMY BRASS QUINTET
Since its inception in 1972, The U.S. Army Brass Quintet has gained a reputation as one of the most highly respected and sought after groups of its kind. The ensemble has appeared before audiences and dignitaries in 48 states and 14 foreign countries. An element of The U.S. Army Band “Pershing’s Own” in Washington, DC, The U.S. Army Brass Quintet has performed at the White House, presidential inaugurations, and official state ceremonies in the Nation’s Capital. They have been selected repeatedly as the first ensemble to honor new presidents with the traditional “Hail to the Chief” on live national broadcasts. In addition, The U.S. Army Brass Quintet frequently provides musical support for special events hosted by the Secretary of Defense, the Secretary of the Army, and the Army Chief of Staff, as well as for ceremonies supporting the Military District of Washington.

ABOUT BOB MCDONALD
Bass-Baritone Bob McDonald enjoys a diverse career across many artistic disciplines, including musical theatre, opera, and the concert stage, as well as his job as baritone, announcer and senior producer for The United States Army Chorus.

Best known as the singer of the Star Spangled Banner for more than 20 years at Washington Capitals games, McDonald was most recently chosen to be among 50 singers from all branches of the military to perform America the Beautiful at Super Bowl 50.
