Vermont Students to Africa is a non-profit organization that is sponsoring a trip to South Africa in the Fall of 2016. 12 Students from NCUHS were selected from an application process to take part. Students proposed an environmental, conservation, eco-tourism, or wildlife research topic that links Vermont and South Africa. This semester, they will work on the Vermont side of the research. This includes classes with Professors from Dartmouth College, Johnson State College, UVM and other local experts in the VT Dept. of Fish and Wildlife, Biologists and more. In the Fall, they will travel for 2 weeks to South Africa, where they will camp in National Parks, and work with game wardens, wildlife biologists, and conservation project operators there. Upon returning, students will be required to present their research, and talk about their experiences within the community.
