On Tuesday, February 23, at 7:00 PM there will be an information meeting to update residents on the proposed school budget, and on Act 46 – School District Mergers. The meeting will be held at the Wolcott Elementary School.
Voting on the school budget will take place by Australian ballot on Tuesday, March 1. Voting takes place at the Wolcott Elementary School. Polls are open from 8 AM to 7 PM.

Also on Tuesday, March 1, at the polls, residents will be asked to complete a very brief survey about how they would like the Wolcott School Board to proceed on Act 46. Should the School Board pursue options that reduce taxes, or options that preserve choice?

Act 46 requires that districts merge by 2018. Wolcott currently has three proposals to consider. These will be discussed in detail during the February 23rd meeting. The Wolcott School Board will actively pursue the option receiving the most support based on the survey results. As details are worked out, further community information sessions will be held before the town is asked to vote to accept or reject that particular merger plan.

March 1 is also voting for the presidential primary. Please do not miss any of these important votes.
