"Emergency Preparedness: the First 72 Hours"

Is your home ready in the event of a local disaster? Come to this free class to find out what you need to know to be better prepared . Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints of Newport will lead a discussion of what you need to know to prepare for emergencies that might strike you and your family. Volunteer fireman Scott Bryant will talk about fire safety and prevention and Sister Simpson R.N. who provides health services to 186 nissionaries in the New England area will discuss health preparedness. Ernie Butler, church emergency preparedness specialist and younger members of the church will review what kinds of provisions you need to keep on hand to survive an emergency. There will be skits to help make this a fun afternoon. Emergency preparedness is of special interest to LDS members because of the value they place on self-reliance, industry and thrift.
