Animal Tracking on Hogback with George Leoniak Feb. 20

Past event
Feb 20, 2016, 9 AM to 12 PM

On Saturday morning, Feb. 20, wildlife and tracking expert George Leoniak will be leading a ramble around the hilltops and valleys of the Hogback Mountain Conservation Area, examining evidence of the animals and birds that live there. He'll show you how to read the many kinds of signs they leave behind (not just tracks!) and not only identify the type of animal/bird, but also interpret the story of what was going on.

This event is limited to 15 people, so sign up now, by sending an email to hogbackvt@gmail.com. Children 14 and under are welcome, but must be accompanied by an adult. If the snow is deep, you'll want to have snowshoes. If there's no snow at all, the event will still go on, with George showing you how to notice signs that are more subtle than tracks in snow. Meet in the big parking lot on the north side of Route 9 just west of the gift shop complex. This is a free event sponsored by the Hogback Mountain Conservation Association.
