As a teenager, artist and filmmaker, Jeremy Lee MacKenzie’s life was fractured by heroin leading to 8 years in prison for drug trafficking and bank robbery. This exhibition features MacKenzie’s laboriously rendered wood scrollworks, designed clandestinely while in prison. Both his films and visual art explore themes of youth, rebirth and contemporary mythology. MacKenzie is a Champlain College Junior whose screenplay “Flicker” recently won the Gold Prize in the 2015 Los Angeles PAGE International Screenwriting Awards.
