The Calais Selectboard will hold a public hearing at the Town Office on Monday, February 15 at 7 pm to hear public input on proposed changes to the Town of Calais Land Use and Development Regulations (zoning). The changes will be voted on at Town Meeting 2016, March 1, by Australian ballot.

Following is a brief overview of the changes. For a more complete summary and the full document, go to the zoning section on the town web site at www.calaisvermont.gov or contact the Calais Town Office at 456-8720 or calais.townclerk@gmail.com. 1) Clarification of zoning administrator as starting point for any development application; 2) Clarification of curb cut and driveway applications; 3) Design Review District – added a description which defines the boundaries of the District in order to clarify those boundaries and reduce confusion caused by an incorrect map of the district; 4) Changes to shoreland standards and enforcement.
