Ecuadorian Dinner at River Arts in Morrisville

Past event
Aug 16, 2013, 6 PM

A wonderful high school senior, Sonya Buglion-Gluck, from Hyde Park, is interested in global environmental issues and has been raising money all year to take part in a study semester in Ecuador. Her commitment to community and positive values is inspiring so I'm sharing info, hoping lots of people will sign up for the dinner on August 16. Good food, Interesting conversations, and a silent auction, too! The meal will be by donation with a suggested donation of $20, and $5 a glass for wine.
Menu
Ensalada mixta con aderezo de cilantro cal (fresh salad with cilantro-lime dressing)
Empanadas:
frijol negro (black bean)
carne de res (beef)
Arroz con menestra de lentejas (lentil stew with rice)
Arroz con fritada de gallina (rice and a chicken dish made with beer, garlic, onion and cumin)
Flan de coco (coconut flan)

The Silent Auction will feature services and items from local businesses and community members including a scenic aerial tour of northern Vermont for two, a hill top pony ride, a XLC backpack with Scotchlite reflective material and Solstice WSD Bontrager helmet from Chuck's bikes, and needle felted designs from Heartbeet Lifesharing.

She's a good cook and has made all these dishes before! Please email me by Monday, August 12th, to reserve a place or 2 or 6. Sonya needs to know how much food to purchase so is asking for RSVPs.
