The film Critical Condition will be shown at the Jeudevine Library on Wednesday, February 10 at 6:30 PM.
Though the Affordable Care Act has insured many Americans, there are many people who would like to dismantle it. In 2008 Roger Weisberg directed and produced Critical Condition, a film which aired on Public Television’s Point Of View, American Documentary series. The film puts a human face on the nation's health care crisis by capturing the harrowing struggles of four critically ill Americans who discover that being uninsured can cost them their jobs, health, home, savings, even their lives. Health care remains a big issue in the current Presidential race. How much has our health care situation changed since the Affordable Care Act was passed? What still needs to be done to insure health care for all? Discussion and refreshments follow the film. For more information call the library at 472-5948.
