There will be a Walden School District special meeting held at the school tonight at 6:00.

In light of the very large proposed budget increase-which we have not approved-and continued indecision at the Statehouse regarding budget caps, the Board is working to move our district meeting to May 17th, 2016.

This is a decision that will be voted on the floor by registered voters that attend tonight's meeting.

The Board hopes that that this change is approved to provide time to work on restructuring and cost reduction ideas that have been proposed and so that the Legislature will have time to settle state educational finance policy.

If the change of date does not happen, the Board will have no choice but to bring forth a budget at town meeting that we do not support and will most likely ask voters to vote against it.

Please come to tonight's meeting to listen, ask questions and understand the reality of the budget situation.
