Waterbury's Winterfest is Coming! Jan. 29 - Feb. 7

Winterfest is a 10-day series of recreation events and activities brought to you by our presenting sponsors, Prohibition Pig and the Alchemist. Dozens of other generous sponsors have made all this fun possible. Starting off, on day one, Friday, January 29, at 6 PM we begin with our annual Winterfest ice ribbon cutting and bonfire party! We’ll enjoy skating, music, and games on the ice. Our guest of honor, Sue Minter, will cut the ribbon of ice to officially open Winterfest at 6:30pm. All welcome to this free event.

At 7 PM we proudly present the annual Storytelling Tournament of Championship of Vermont, “Tell Off Extempo.” This is a unique competition of true stories told without notes or text. As the Season 5 finale, all speakers are the best of the best! Doors open at 6:30. $10 admission at the door with half of all proceeds benefiting Waterbury Recreation. Storytelling starts at 7pm. Adults only.

Also starting on Friday, January 29th, the Annual Winterfest Window Contest begins. As you cruise through Waterbury Village check out the dozen plus decorated windows of Winter Wonderland of Fun! Vote for your favorite window decoration at www.WaterburyWinterfest.com were you will find a full listing of other participating businesses. Crowd favorite will be judged on February 3rd.
