What Can One Person Do About Hunger in Our Town and World?

You can join in the local Charlotte CROP Hunger Walk to raise awareness of hunger and raise funds to help the hungry. The annual Charlotte Crop Hunger Walk is this Sunday, starting at 11:30am and goes from the Charlotte Congregational Church to the Charlotte Central School and back. The walk's length is limited to encourage families with children to participate. Each year we raise thousands of dollars to address hunger. 25% of the funds go to the Charlotte Food Shelf and 75% to the good work of Church World Service around the world. Find out more at The Walk's website where there is also a way for children to learn how malnutrition impacts kids who are less fortunate. An online interactive survival scenario has been created that asks the reader to make a series of tough choices. You can try it out at http://hunger.cwsglobal.org/decisions/index.htm.

Whether you have connections to the church or not, you are welcome to come join us and sign up to walk or to donate to a walker by visiting http://hunger.cwsglobal.org. Click "Find a Walk" and input our Charlotte Zip Code. Call the church at 425-3176 for more information.
