Hello Everyone,
We had another great market last week and were all grateful for the wonderful community support. As predicted, Colleen sold out of all her delicious burgers, and my kids sold all of their goodies. The other vendors felt great about the turnout and experience of being there.
This week, we'll be in front of the school on Wednesday at 4:30 with delicious and beautiful items. Colleen will have homemade meat and vegetarian chili. On the side she'll have cornbread and fresh salad. Sarah will have her applesauce chess pies. They sold out last week, so again-- come early, and come hungry! :)
Jenna will have tomatoes, peppers, onions, tomatillos, husk cherries, kohlrabi, and flowers. She uses organic standards with her growing practices and loves to work in her greenhouse and garden. This feeling is obvious in her produce and in her flowers.
Last week we had Karen with her Mountain Woman and Mountain Man Bars, maple syrup and eggs. Her bars were fresh out of the oven and sold like hotcakes.
And I hope we'll have Mike again this week with his flavorful and delicious jalapeno hot sauce. Maybe Constancia will join us too with her goat cheese. Sounds like she has goat mozzarella again, which is delicious and a more flavorful version of cow's milk mozzarella.
On my part, I'll have pickles, kimchi, "Black and Blue" fermented soda and kombucha for sure. I also have a crock of applesauce fermenting and am hoping to make apple-bacon-cheddar turnovers. With luck, they will both be ready in time for the market along with some sparkling elderberry and ginger cider, but with the temperatures dropping, everything takes longer to ferment. Certainly if the applesauce, turnovers (not fermented) and cider aren't ready for this market, I hope it will be by next week.
Speaking of next week, we are calling the market on October 2nd, the Harvest Market and going to add come additional fun to our regular vending and goodies. We'll bring over our cider press, especially if we could gather a couple of volunteers to help with it; there will be face painting and we're hoping for tractor rides. With some good weather and a little extra help, we hope these extra activities will add to everyone's enjoyment of the market time.
With the weather getting cooler, the end of the market is approaching. Our last market will be Wednesday, October 16th. Including this week, we have four markets left, so if you have been wanting to come to the market and haven't made it yet, come by sometime soon. We would love to see you there.
Please let me know if you have any questions about the items that my children and I will be selling.
Be well,
