Battle of Bull Run: the Painting and Story

Join the Friends of the Vermont State House to welcome a most significant donation to the State House collection: the Battle of Bull Run painted by James Hope.
This 19th century painting, a visual first-hand account, by a Vermont Civil War soldier is the gift of historian Howard Coffin.
Hear the amazing story of the painting's provenance in the Senate Chamber at 3:30 PM, then be there for the reception following as Mr. Coffin installs his gift in the State House's venerable Cedar Creek Room.
