On Thursday (1/21) at 7:30pm, New Haven's Conservation Commission will host the next in our Armchair Naturalist series of talks: "Raptors of Vermont." Hawks, eagles, vultures, kites, owls, ospreys and falcons are all among the birds considered raptors, or birds of prey.
A couple of wild guests will attend the presentation! We will be introduced to the birds we are blessed to have here in Vermont and explain why they are so important and how Vermonters can help them thrive. Our speaker is Craig Newman is a co-founder and director of the Outreach For Earth Stewardship (OFES) founded in 1989. He has worked with birds of prey for almost thirty years in both rehabilitation and education. OFES (www.ofesvt.org) continues to provide education programs using wild ambassador raptors on site at Shelburne Farms, schools and other locations.
Meet at New Haven Town Hall/Gym (North Street next to Beeman School). Questions? Please email percival@madriver.com
