You're invited to the opening reception of "Najawa, A Story of Palestine", an art installation on display at the Fletcher Free Library from January-March 2016.
"Najawa" by artist Michelle Sayles is a 45' long "Street Comic" that tells the story of a Palestinian woman's life in decade snapshots. This comic was created to raise awareness about the history of the Palestinian/Israeli Conflict, synthesizing oral history, documentary, and media accounts of life in occupied Palestine. Sayles collaborated in the development of the project with local artist and educator, Jen Berger, and Vermonters for a Just Peace in Palestine/Israel.
The opening event will be held on Monday, January 25th from 6-8pm featuring free Middle Eastern food, zines, and an artist talk at 7pm.
