Winter Feeding Wild Birds

Past event
Jan 19, 2016

On Tuesday, January 19th at 11am, Randy Schmidt from Manchester's The Vermont Bird Place, will be at Neighborhood Connections to discuss the myriad ways to attract the widest variety of wild birds to your backyard feeders. The Vermont Bird Place has been helping customers enjoy wild birds since 1997.

According to the National Audubon Society, nearly 1/3 of the adult population of North America dispenses a billion pounds of birdseed a year. The main reason we feed wild birds is to close the distance between us and birds so that we observe and identify them. Schmidt will discuss the different types of feeders as well as seeds and set that backyard birds enjoy most. Since water can be difficult for birds to find in the winter, he will also talk about heated birds baths.

Space is limited, so please call Neighborhood Connections at 824-4343 to reserve a seat today or e-mail Mary Schwartz at schwartzmary02@gmail.com

Neighborhood Connections is located in Londonderry's Mountain Marketplace, next to the Londonderry Post Office.
