Flying Stage Productions together with Kingdom County Productions present a live dance band party, celebrating the publication of One Imagined Word at a Time, a premier anthology of work from participants in Vermont’s Writers for Recovery workshops. The workshops, begun in 2013, are led by award-winning Vermont writer Gary Miller and produced by filmmaker Bess O’Brien from Kingdom County Productions. The writing project was an outgrowth of Bess O’Brien’s documentary film "The Hungry Heart."The evening opens with a short reading from some of the book’s contributing authors, followed by a high energy dance/concert from the Flying Stage.
Under the direction of noted Vermont musician/band leader and Cabot teacher, Brian Boyes, The Big Bang Bhangra Brass Band combines the rich musical and dance roots of Indian Bhangra, Bollywood, New Orleans Brass Bands, and the 1930′s jungle swing of Duke Ellington and Cab Calloway. A wild and colorful explosion of musical influences, Big Bang Brass features some of the best funk and jazz players from many of Vermont’s favorite bands.
Hope you can make this one!
