Monday, January 18
Vermont History Museum, 109 State Street
The Vermont History Museum will be open and FREE to the public from 12:00 - 4:00 pm as a celebration of the life and work of the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
We'll be exploring the idea of what it means to be a Vermonter with activities for visitors of all ages, and the exhibit "Freedom & Unity," exploring 400 years of Vermont history, will be open for learning and contemplation as you explore those questions for yourself.
At 1:30 pm, Greg Sharrow, co-director of the Vermont Folklife Center, will speak on "Vermont's Historic and Growing Diversity." He will explore the vital cultures of Vermont’s immigrant communities and highlights foodways, religious culture, and traditional arts in our state’s evolving cultural landscape. After the talk, we'll encourage a community conversation on the same topics.
Contact Amanda Gustin for more information: 802-828-2180. This program is sponsored by the Vermont Humanities Council through their Speaker's Bureau program, and by Rubin, Kidney, Meyer, & Vincent, Attorneys at Law.
